Which VOCs are being tested for in your indoor air sample?

The chemical family of VOCs includes more than 400 substances. The analysis of your indoor air sample covers:

• A targeted analysis of the VOCs most commonly found in indoor air and considered by health authorities to be of greatest concern, including aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, etc.), hydrocarbons (decane, undecane, etc.), chlorinated solvents (perchloroethylene, trichloroethylene, etc.), terpenes (limonene, pinene, etc.). Supplemented by a precise quantification of concentrations in indoor air. See the list of targeted VOCs.
• A non-targeted analysis to identify all VOCs present in indoor air in addition to the targeted VOCs analysis

This analysis is the most comprehensive available on the market. It reliably identifies VOCs present in indoor air that pose a health risk to occupants.   

How do you collect an indoor air sample using your Scan4Home Screening test Kit?

Your testing kit contains a Scan4Air VOC sensor with activated carbon that will absorb airborne pollutants. It is specifically designed for collecting indoor air samples.

The Scan4Air sensor should be placed in a room in your home and exposed to indoor air for a period of 7 days.

Once the 7 days have passed, send your air sample to the laboratory for analysis.

How do I send in my indoor air sample?

Once you have finished collecting your indoor air sample, send it—along with the completed collection form—to the laboratory for analysis. Use the prepaid return envelope provided in your kit to send it. All you have to do is drop the envelope in a mailbox.

How long does it take to receive the results?

Your sample will be analyzed within a few days of its arrival at the laboratory. Once the results have been interpreted, our team of indoor air quality experts will prepare your personalized analysis report.

The analysis report will be emailed to you within 15 business days of your sample’s arrival at the laboratory.
